Abstract
Communication for development represents a field of knowledge of considerable interest in the dynamics and processes of development, so it deserves to be recognized in the Peruvian context. In this sense, the objective of this research is to structure a disciplinary cartography around the situation and evolution of its scientific production, the fields, thematic subfields that compose it, as well as the spaces and subjects of intervention. The methodology is descriptive, 59 reports of theses recovered from the National Repository of Research Works of the Peruvian universities were systematically reviewed. The results show a high concentration of research in the last five years (2015-2019), concentrated in some universities, more public than private; preferably in certain territorial regions, more in provinces than in the capital. The university research analyzed focuses on communication approaches for development that promote social and personal change; communication strategies, related to the dynamics of promotion of local projects; the communication plans, which intervene in the associative development; and community media concerning broadcasting, and informative treatment of social conflicts. It is concluded that the communication for the development in the theses is oriented from a discipline that exhaustively marks the territory and the social.
