Current perspectives on teaching strategies in children with autism (Asd)

This research describes the teaching strategies used in children with disorder of the autistic spectrum (ASD) in an institution Special Basic, using a non-experimental design with the aim of approaching work teaching done in classrooms in children with ASD, through a questionnaire identifies five axes dimensions such as: communication and language; social and emotional; behavioral flexibility; cognitive flexibility and generalization, measured through seven indicators: strategy, motivation, anticipation, care, natural environment, group work and adaptation. In the regard, it was found that 80% of teachers used alternative communication systems, tools that facilitate communication and language, however, 40% does not use cooperative play and learning in collaborative group work. These results help to propose strategies for further education to improve the adaptation and social interaction of children with ASD.
