Abstract

Andean agriculture continues to be the main source of income for the Cabana and Cotahuasina population, representing the main source of their food; However, there are practices that put at risk due to the introduction of conventional practices in agriculture, the supply of foreign foods is conditioning a change in the behavior of farmers, with the progressive loss of food biodiversity, leading to problems of poor nutrition due to micronutrient deficiency. The work assesses in these two communities, the awareness that participatory techniques produce to motivate them to continue using their platforms, revalue their cultural practices and to grow foods that complement the family diet. The data was collected at the end of the training day through the qualitative evaluation technique (rainbow) and a survey was applied during the activities to the families involved. Finally they installed organic vegetables in part of their platforms, incorporating them into their diet.
