Implementing WLAN-IoT control system for brewing fermentation through Raspberry PI

Abstract

The actual brew market provides opportunities and challenges for craft breweries, on of this challenges is a faster development of beer recipes and an acceptable standardization home-made brew. This work presents a report and analysis of the implementation of a control, supervision and storage system made in a craft brewery in Rio de Janeiro-Brazil, for the fermentation stage. The brewery mini plant designed is shown, a deep analysis of the BrewPI controller architecture is done, presenting its advantages and technological implementation: I.e. IoT particle; 1-Wire protocol for sensors; WLAN supervision and control, with human machine interface and historical data recording.
