Abstract

A guarantee for a school institution is the pedagogical leadership of the directors. The purpose of the research was to identify the managerial competencies from the leadership, contained in the framework of Good Managerial Performance to design and use the Annual Management Report. The study is descriptive, applied, being the relational design. A Self-Assessment Scale with 20 items and a Rubric of three sub-variables and 34 criteria was applied to 60 directors of state establishments in the Arequipa-Peru region, additionally the field notebook was used. The results reveal that managers tend to be generous in their self-assessment, they recognize that they do not always make the diagnosis of the characteristics of the institutional environment, little successful management of the information produced by the institution, and in decision-making. Many managers present little information on the quantitative and qualitative achievements of the commitments during the year. There are no collegiate reflections that improve school management, dragging errors in the years to come. It is concluded that the majority of managers do not have specific competences for the preparation of the annual management report, which damages their pedagogical leadership, being necessary to accompany them in the collegiate work processes in each institution.
