Resumen

In university education, it is necessary to apply active teaching strategies, such as Project-Based Learning (PBL), so that students can develop competencies, skills, and attitudes, and consequently find solutions to the problems in their field of specialization. This work shows the experience of the influence of PBL in competency development, based on students’ evaluation. A case study was conducted in the Database (DB) subject in the Systems Engineering program for two semesters. Data were collected through a questionnaire, which allowed for the systematization of information. The results of the study demonstrate a high degree of impact of PBL in competency and skill development. It is concluded that students value their PBL experience positively and are capable of identifying the competencies they have developed in solving the proposed projects.
