Resumen

This article describes a teaching experience based on the application of a geolocated video game to teach first-year university students the fundamentals of object-oriented programming, providing a motivating environment for their learning. The object-oriented programming paradigm is based on general concepts that are known by human beings in general, but teaching them generates important challenges that are not easy to handle due to their abstract nature. It is verified that a teaching based on the application of a geolocated video game to teach concepts of the object-oriented programming paradigm is effective and motivating for Generation Z students. The experience was carried out in the Professional School of Systems Engineering of the University National of San Agustín de Arequipa – Peru..
