Innovación para el desarrollo: Camino a seguir para enfrentar el reto desde la universidad

This article discusses the importance of innovation as a strategy to improve the quality of university education. They are considered two areas in which innovation plays a decisive role: the teaching-learning processes and the relationship between the university and the company. It is argued that the task of the university should not be limited to the training of professionals with the skills and skills that companies require, must transcend that purpose and also promote the training of entrepreneurial leaders. Additionally, following McKinsey's 7's model, the way strategic objectives and actions at a public university have been aligned. It concludes mainly by emphasizing the importance of creating an innovative and research culture in the university, that is, the conception of innovation as an opportunity for the university to fulfill its responsibility to the society in which it is inserted.
