Resumen

This quantitative study aims to analyze the situation of the Public University regarding the skills demanded by Industry 4.0 and its relationship with the requirements of the labor market. Research with a quantitative approach is applied and of a non-experimental design; focuses on first-year students of the School of Industrial Engineering, with a sample of 120 students who were administered a questionnaire, Cronbach’s alpha coefficient highlights a high level of reliability in the data obtained. The results indicate that there are discrepancies between the skills taught in the curriculum and the skills required by the labor market. Therefore, it is recommended to reflect on the incorporation of technological and personal skills in the study plan, aligned with the demands of Industry 4.0.
