Resumen
The study of organizational culture is high considered in the business field, and limited in universities, but of increasing importance to establish guidelines that respond to social and scientific-technological demands. For this reason, this research evaluates the organizational culture of a public university located to the south of Lima (Peru), in order to determine the prevalent cultures in career and general studies professors. To collect the information, was used a questionnaire based on the Competing Values Framework, of Cameron and Quinn (2011). The results evidenced differences between both groups of professors, from diametrically located (sub)cultures, that is, career professors are located within a hierarchicalculture and those of general studies, in the clan culture; but both would like to share the clan’s. Although differences in valuation are not desirable, they do not gravitate negatively in institutional life, on the contrary, they would favor innovation and autonomy.
