Resumen
Introduction: Family violence is a problem of much relevance and topicality in our country. Objetive: To establish the relationship violence inside to the family and self-esteem in the students of the University National of San Agustín of Arequipa. Materials and methods: Study exploratory, type descriptive, cross with correlational design. The sample 994 observation units. family members of intensive care unit, neonatal services. The instruments used: Scale of self-esteem of Rosemberg, Questionnaire of exposure to violence inside to the family. Results: That students with low self-esteem the 27.6% participated they were involved in some situation of violence while, of those who had average self-esteem, the 17.11%, and of the students with high self-esteem, only the 5.7%. Conclusions: There is a significant relationship between both variables, that is, the student's lower self-esteem is more likely to be immersed in acts of violence.
